PRESENTATION OF THE BASKETBALL CAMP 2024

From 2021 onwards, Goran Dragić and his team of experienced coaches and educators will spend seven crazy, enjoyable, fun, but also basketball-filled summer days in the beautiful surroundings of the Municipality of Laško, the Thermana Laško hotel and pool complex (a four-star hotel) and the renovated Tri lilije hall (flooring and air-conditioning renovated in 2024).
The Goran Dragić Basketball Camp, which will take place in Laško in 2024 between Sunday, June 30, and Saturday, July 6, is not just about basketball. It’s not just about fun, either. It is a wonderful combination of sport, basketball, mutual respect, getting to know each other, and many moments of happiness.
And it all comes together, above all, with the extraordinary personality of “Gogi.” Goran spends all seven days with the children, getting to know them and sharing every part of the basketball camp with them. He also brings many sporting friends to visit them and arranges many surprises for them.
WHO IS THE CAMP FOR?
The Goran Dragić Basketball Camp is open to boys and girls aged 9-15 (born between 2009 and 2015).
The camp is not just a regular summer camp. It combines basketball with many different sporting activities, imaginative experiences, fun, and making new friends. It is a basketball adventure camp.
We aim to give participants a fantastic week spent with an idol, a family man, and a one-of-a-kind person, which Goran Dragić undoubtedly is, with the dedication, innovation, and knowledge of a team of experienced organizers, coaches, and educators. We want to stress that Gogi is with the children all seven days, every day, every hour.
We want the children to leave the camp smiling, invigorated with lots of new knowledge and friends, and tired.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE PACKAGE FOR EACH PARTICIPANT?
- 6x full board at the Thermana Park Laško Superior Hotel****.
- Accommodation in spacious two or 3-bedded rooms.
- Adidas equipment (ball, bag, jersey, shorts, t-shirt).

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
WHAT IS AVAILABLE TO PARTICIPANTS?
- The Tri Lilije Basketball Hall is divided into three basketball courts of the right size (28×15 m) during the camp.
- The children are looked after by 17 coaches and 9 educators, as well as an additional organizational team (camp management, logistics, photography, video, and social media).
- On the first day, the coaches divide the participants into eight groups of 17 or 18 children of approximately the same age and basketball skills.
- During the camp, the children complete 12 basketball activities (8 practices, 2 game afternoons, a 3×3 basketball practice and tournament), plus at least 10 other guided activities.
- Visits from former and current basketball players, coaches, and representatives of other sports are a regular feature in Laško.
- The hotel has a large event hall for non-basketball activities.
- We have our own wing of the hotel and our own dining room, and children will be accommodated up to three to a room in the Thermana Park Superior Hotel****.
- Coaches and/or educators supervise children at all times and have additional external, trained chaperones for all activities
- There will be a good number of surprises in store for the participants.
One of the three basketball courts has a basketball structure adjusted to a lower height for the youngest campers (hoop height 260 instead of 305 cm).

In addition to Goran Dragić, a team of organizers, coaches, and educators will spend a week with your children in the beautiful surroundings of Laško and its outstanding accommodation and sports infrastructure.
CAMP LEADERSHIP
In 2024, the camp will be led by Žiga Koščak, Director of the Goran Dragić Foundation, and its member and director of Spontanzo, Matej Avanzo, with the participation of Dejan Mihevc (Camp Manager), Rado Trifković (Camp Manager) and Andreja Potočnik Krajnik (Video Content, Branding, Graphic Design, Organisation) in the shortlisted organizing team.
These basketball enthusiasts have a wealth of experience organizing events, especially those where the participants expect something more.

COACHING TEAM
IN LOVE WITH BASKETBALL
There are at least 17 coaches with the children at all times. The camp’s professional director is, as in recent years, Dejan Mihevc, one of the best basketball strategists of the young Slovenian wave. He is surrounded by several coaches who are used to working with young people, as well as players who are still active.
At the same time, the camp’s organizers and Goran Dragić are trying to bring the best Slovenian and international basketball experts and active and former players to Laško for a day or two. All of them will be available to the participants both on the basketball court and in their free time.
For the third year in a row, we will cooperate with the 3×3 Basketball Department of the Basketball Federation of Slovenia or its head, coach Matic Vidic. He will present the basics of the new Olympic discipline to the camp participants and will also organize an internal tournament with the Goran Dragić Basketball Camp team.
It is also worth mentioning that a physiotherapist will be present in Laško throughout the camp to take care of any injuries and health concerns.
Children of different ages and basketball skills participate in the camp, but the camp has never been and will never be focused only or exclusively on basketball. Basketball is the main bonding element of our camps, and we do not accept participants based on their basketball background.
TEAM OF EDUCATORS
RESPECT, FUN, AND DISCIPLINE
Even if basketball is the first priority at the Goran Dragić Basketball Camp, the children’s safety, quality, professional, and enjoyable stay is at least as important to us. This area will be taken care of by a team of ten educators headed by their leader, Rado Trifković. He joins forces with his colleagues, all of whom are professionally qualified and have a lot of experience from camps, colonies, camps and also events of the Ljubljana Moste-Polje Friends of Youth Association, which is one of the partners of the “Gogi” basketball camp.
The educators are with the children throughout their stay at the basketball camp, and together with the coaches, they are accommodated in a standard part of the hotel.

A beautiful town on the Savinja River
A small and beautiful town with an exceptional SPA and sports infrastructure, it lies along the Savinja River, just a dozen kilometers from Celje and 90 km from Ljubljana.
There are 14,000 highly hospitable locals living in the Municipality of Laško, who love to boast their well-known brewery, excellent food, beautiful nature, basketball, and hotel facilities, as the area also prides itself on the springs of thermo-mineral waters.
Since 2013, it has been the proud bearer of the European Destination of Excellence title; it bears the golden sign of Slovenia Green Destination. It has been a proud and exceptional host to Goran Dragić and his basketball camp since 2021.

KICKOFF MEETING
For children and parents, on the first day of the camp, on Sunday, June 30, we will prepare and mark parking spaces next to the hotel, as well as a special reception intended for the gathering of children in front of the camp.
At the introductory meeting, which will be hosted at 11:15 in the large hall of the Thermana Park Hotel Laško Superior****, the entire organizational team, headed by the management, coaches, and educators, will introduce themselves to the aspiring participants and their parents or guardians.
Everyone present will, of course, also be available for any questions you may have.
ALL-STAR & DEPARTURE
On the last day of the camp, i.e., on Saturday, July 6, at 10:00 a.m., we will prepare a final day for all participants and their parents or guardians in the Three Lilies Hall with an All-Star game.
The children can show what they learned during the week spent with Goran Dragić. Let them know how much they love basketball while participating in games, fun contests, and special giveaways and challenges. We also prepare some of them for the bravest mothers, fathers, grandfathers, grandmothers, aunts, uncles, or other family members.

The campers will stay at the modern Thermana Park Laško**** Superior hotel complex, which is accommodated in superbly equipped and extremely spacious rooms. They will have their own “wing” of the hotel, dining room, terrace, rooms for exciting activities, a significant event hall, special elevators, and a separate staircase.
Thermana Laško has become a genuinely indispensable partner of the Goran Dragić basketball camp, so we do not doubt that the children will also enjoy their free time during the week spent in the town by the Savinja with “Gogi” and his team.

TRI LILIJE HALL
The basketball shrine of Laško
The Tri Lilije Hall is one of the symbols of the city of Laško and is especially famous among basketball fans. It is the first sports facility in Slovenia with a ceiling semaphore and a sports area built on the ground floor.
For the Goran Dragić Basketball Camp, the hall will be adapted to allow three groups of children to practice at the same time, and with 4,500 square meters of space, it will provide ample space and freedom for all camp participants. With all the lines drawn, they will have three basketball courts of the correct dimensions (28×15 m). As he says, children will really be able to feel “that big” basketball.
One of the three courts will have the height of the basketball structure adjusted so that the hoops are only 260 cm from the ground instead of the usual 305 cm.
A MAJOR INNOVATION AND ACQUISITION IN 2024:
The Municipality of Laško, in cooperation with the Goran Dragić Foundation, has provided air-conditioning and a new hardwood floor.
The sports facility can accommodate up to 2,500 spectators, but during the camp, it will be equipped to make everyone who enters feel like they are in Gogi’s basketball fairytale. We will install over 80 meters of LED screens and add extra glamour by branding the venue with the image of the Goran Dragić Foundation and our proud sponsors and partners.

The Goran Dragić Basketball Camp offers all participants a concise and thoroughly prepared program and exceptional accommodation, basketball training, and entertainment.
