GORAN DRAGIĆ CAMP 2022 PRESENTATION
LAŠKO, July 10th through 16th
Goran Dragić basketball camp took place at Rogla between 2014 and 2019 while the 2020 edition was organized online due to the challenges associated with the Covid-19 pandemic.
In 2021, the organizers decided to upgrade and change the concept of the camp and to provide even better conditions for the campers – accommodation and basketball-wise.
This summer, Goran Dragić and his team will spend an eventful and fun week, filled with basketball and other activities, in the beautiful surroundings of the Municipality of Laško, the Thermana Laško hotel and pool complex and the three-lined Tri lilije arena.
Goran Dragić basketball camp, which will run in Laško from Sunday, July 10th through Saturday, July 16th, is not just about basketball; it is a wonderful combination of sports, basketball, building relationships, mutual respect, and making friends. It is what Goran’s exceptional personality is all about. Namely, he spends the whole week engaging with the campers, coaching them, sharing his vast basketball knowledge, offering advice and imparting wisdom.
WHO CAN ATTEND?
The Goran Dragić Basketball Camp is open to boys and girls aged 9 to 15.
The camp is not just a regular basketball camp as we’ve prepared plenty of accompanying sports activities for the campers to enjoy. Our goal is to provide the campers with an eventful and fantastic week spent with their idol and, above all a family man, a unique person Goran Dragić undoubtedly is. We want the campers to leave the camp a little tired but with a bright smile on their faces, with a bag full of fond memories, knowledge, and new friendships.
What’s included in the package?
- 6x full board at the Thermana Park Laško Superior hotel****.
- Accommodation in spacious rooms.
- Adidas sports gear (ball, bag, jersey, shorts, T-shirt).
- 24/7 supervision by a highly qualified 30-member team of coaches, camp counselors, organizers, and Goran Dragić.

Important information
What do campers have access to?
- Before the camp kicks off, the newly air-conditioned arena will be divided into three standard-sized basketball courts.
- The campers are cared for and supervised by 14 coaches and 8 camp counselors.
- On day one, the coaches divide the campers into seven teams of about 15 campers of approximately the same age and basketball skills.
- During the camp, the children will engage in ten basketball activities (8 practices and 2 evenings of games), as well as almost as many other activities.
- There will also be plenty of surprises in store for the campers as visits by former and current basketball players, coaches and other top athletes are a regular feature in Laško.
- We have our own wing of the hotel and our own dining room; the campers will be accommodated in the superior hotel Thermana Park Superior ****.

In 2021, the organizing committee was strengthened, as Nenad Kalamanda and Žiga Koščak were joined by Matej Avanzo, the director of Spontanzo. The three basketball enthusiasts have a wealth of experience and share a passion for organizing high-profile sporting events.

Coaching Staff
In Love with Basketball
The sports leader of the camp is, as in recent years, Dejan Mihevc, one of the best basketball strategists of the young Slovenian wave. He is surrounded by a range of experienced coaches working with young people and active players. There are a minimum of 16 coaches with children at the camp at all times.
At the same time, the camp’s organizers and Goran Dragić are trying to bring the best Slovenian and world basketball experts and active and former players to Laško for a day or two. Everyone visiting the camp will be available to the participants on the basketball court and in their free time.
New this year is the collaboration with the 3×3 basketball department of the Basketball Association of Slovenia, or its head, coach Matic Vidic. He will present the basics of the new Olympic discipline to the campers of the camp. He will also organize an internal tournament with the Goran Dragić Basketball Camp team on Thursday afternoon.
It is also worth noting that a physiotherapist from the 2A Sports LAB project will be present at the camp to achieve the full potential of recreational individuals, professional athletes, individuals, and groups after unwanted injuries.

RESPECT, FUN AND DISCIPLINE
Even if basketball comes first at the Goran Dragić basketball camp, a safe, high-quality, professional, and pleasant stay for children is at least as important to us. This area will be handled by a team of nine educators headed by their leader, Rado Trifković. He combines these strengths with colleagues, is professionally qualified, and with many experiences from camps, colonies, camps, and events of the Association of Friends of the Youth of Ljubljana Moste-Polje, one of the partners of the “Gogi” basketball camp.
The educators are with the children during the entire stay at the basketball camp, and together with the coaches, they are accommodated in the central part of the hotel.

A beautiful town on Savinja river
A small and beautiful town, with an exceptional SPA and sports infrastructure, lies along the Savinja River, just a dozen kilometers from Celje and 90 km away from Ljubljana.
There are 14,000 extremely hospitable locals living in the Municipality of Laško, who love to boast of their well-known brewery, excellent food, beautiful nature, basketball, and hotel facilities, as the area also prides itself with the springs of thermo-mineral waters.
Since 2013, it has been proud bearer of the European Destination of Excellence title; it bears the golden sign of Slovenia Green Destination. It has been a proud and exceptional host to Goran Dragić and his basketball camp since 2021.

The kickoff meeting will take place in the Big Hall of the Thermana Park Laško Superior **** hotel. The entire camp team will be introduced and available for questions.
ALL-STAR festivities and departure
The final day festivities intended for campers and their parents will tip off at 10 am on Sunday, July 16th, at the Tri lilije Arena with the All-Star game.
The campers will be able to show off the skills they learned thought the week spent with Goran Dragić, demonstrating their love for basketball, and participating in many fun competitions and challenges. We have also prepared a little something for the bravest mothers, fathers, grandfathers, grandmothers, aunts, uncles or other family members.

The campers will be staying at the modern Thermana Park Laško**** Superior hotel complex, accommodated in superbly equipped and extremely spacious rooms. They will have their own “wing” of the hotel, their own dining room, terrace, rooms for exciting activities, a large event hall, special elevators and a separate staircase.
Thermana Laško has become a truly indispensable partner of the Goran Dragić basketball camp, so we have no doubt that the children will also enjoy their free time during the week spent in the town by the Savinja with “Gogi” and his team.

“TRI LILIJE” THE SACRED ARENA
One of symbols of Laško
The city sports arena Tri lilije is one of the symbols of Laško, and it is especially highly regarded among basketball fans. Namely, it is the first sports facility in Slovenia with a jumbo ceiling score board.
During the camp, the 4500 square meters of the gym hardwood floor will be divided into 3 regulation-size basketball courts, so 3 teams will be able to practice at the same time.
2022 ACQUISITION::
In cooperation with the Goran Dragić Foundation, the Municipality of Laško, has equipped the arena with the air-conditioning system.
The Arena seats up to 2,500 people and it will be specially set up to make all campers feel like they are part of Gogi’s basketball fairy tale. Namely, we will install over 70 meters of LED screens throughout the arena. Furthermore, we’ll provide additional “shine” to the venue with a life size cutout of Goran Dragić and messages from our proud sponsors and partners.

In addition to superb accommodation, the GD 2022 camp team has thoroughly designed a 7-day program for the campers consisting of:
